Buchpräsentation und Diskussion mit Daniel Loick zum Buch “Kritik der Polizei” am 4. Juni:
Die Polizei ist für einige Menschen “Freund und Helfer”, andere erleben sie im täglichen Leben als Institution, die unterdrückt, vertreibt oder schikaniert. Im Zuge wachsender gesellschaftlicher Spannungen wird dieser Aspekt immer offensichtlicher. Insbesondere die US-amerikanische Black-Lives-Matter-Bewegung hat das Thema Polizeigewalt auf die Tagesordnung gehoben, aber auch hierzulande scheint die Polizei in eine grundlegende Krise geraten zu sein. Dieser Band versammelt erstmals wichtige Texte zur Polizeikritik von deutschen und internationalen Intellektuellen und Aktivist*innen.

About the book:
For some people, the police are ‘friends and helpers’, others experience them in everyday life as an institution which oppresses, excludes and harasses. As social tensions in society grow, this aspect becomes more and more obvious. In the United States, the Black Lives Matter movement was instrumental in raising police brutality as an issue in the broader public, but in Europe too the police seems to be experiencing a fundamental crisis. In this book, important texts on the critique of the police by German, as well as international intellectuals and activists are collected for the first time.
